---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----

here's the story from day 1. the bike was on ebay as a parts bike due to theft recovery. he never stated whether it was salvaged but he said he had a title, i assumed it was salvaged. in the odometer section it said odo not actual. i thought that meant it was salvaged. i went to the liscence brach and asked for a document of reconstruction for a rebuilt title. my father in law is a cop so he was going to inspect it for me. so i read the requirements on the sheet and it said only needed if branded salvaged. my title no where says salvaged so i brought it up there and they said its clean.

i brought it home and stripped it. the top legs of a stock subframe are just pipe welded on another pipe so there is no open holes you just cut off the legs and clean the area. the lower is part of the frame i cut them off and layed strip steel and slowly walked them in and welded them with a wire welder. then body filled and sanded. you would not no there was a subframe excpet where the top leg used to be. its alittle rough but it just need a skim coat of body filler. i didnt do that yet cus welding a new subframe would just defeat the purpose. the tratcor seat subframe is since gone. the carbs are maybe stock jetting i dont know. it had the stock airbox with a k and n flat filter. also stock headers and midpipe with a d and d bolt on. so i dont know if the owner jetted it. the d and d is cut 6 inches and 6 inches of packing removed. it does still have the rest so its not hollow. i have k and n pods. they are one filter for 2 carbs. never used. it has a nice aluminum battery box tig welded by a off road shop. it sits under the tank above the shock. shock is stock. i bought the billet 3 hole lowering links from diamond powersports i think on 58cycle.com. i have on it right now the stock swing arm cut and extended 6 inches with some bracing on top. i have the gixxer 1000 swing arm off an 04. i never finished mounting it due to not having a 1000 rear wheel. the bandit wheel has a smaller axle so it flops in the adjuster holes. the swing arm is shaved 5 mm or so at the swing arm pivot. it is not finished. i need some spacers made that fit it to the stock bandit pivot axle. i was not willing to chop the frame on the swing arm pivot just to try to make a swing arm fit. i wanted to make the swing arm fit the frame but my time was not available to make that happen. i had originally took my stock forks and had them shortened with a aluminum spacer inside. also new fluid( alittle heavier cus i weigh 250) and new seals. but i recieved my buddies gsxr 600 inverted forks so there was money for nothing. the engine was layed over on a fine gravel road. it had dirt in the starter area and i took off the cover and saw more so i took off the oil pan and lower case. reoved the transmission and thoroughly cleaned it. the kill switch did its job and there are no dirt scratches in the cylinder. i used anerobic sealer on the case as their is no gasket there from the factory. all the covers has new oem gaskets and has a new starter cover. i havent started it yet.
