| Rust Problems on Black Oxided Bolts? |
 |
When "blacking out" a bike I often use black oxided bolts in place of stainless steel or chrome. But in time, usually a relatively short time, rust will appear on these and it is very annoying to clean up if you've replaced alot of bolts on your bike. Check out a product called Boeshield, designed by Boeing for aircraft components. I've used it with great results to prevent or prolong the effect of rust.

Boeshield is the best of evils. Black oxide bolts just suck in general. If you've already painted them I'd just leave 'em.
