First of, thanks for this site, which indeed is very much needed in the US!

I am originally from Europe, where you can get the Naked FZ6, and when I first looked into buying this bike over here in the US, I was looking for the N model in Black... right... quickly discovered that '06 Fizzers do not come in black and the N model is only sold on the other side of the pond... great...

That's when I came across Steelbilly's masterpiece Smile ... I just couldn't stop staring at the pictures... I must have all his pics saved on my PC! Well it gave me hope and I started researching more details about doing my own conversion... and here I am!

Here is my ride... still in progress (few pics showing the evolution until today)!

Thanks bro... new headlight on its way... bellypan on its way... then I'd like to start working on the details... new breaks, new handlebar, racetech suspension, pazzo levers (or the ones R1 posted today! amazing)... man I love the fact that I'll never be done with this bike lol

Here is the headlight (ordered in black though)... it should have been delivered already (coming from France), but was stuck in customs... UPS just called me this morning to tell me they finaly got it figured out (2weeks later) and it should be delivered next week. I can't wait...

Ok the first problem I ran into were the fork clamps... the rubber inner "gasket" (anti-vib) was too thick to fit the forks... so I cut them into smaller pieces and made them fit (pics to come). I also adjusted the clamps to the height I want them to be.

Then I realized that the aluminum side "brackets" (which also had to be painted black), looked like they would fit -somewhat-, but did not have a matching bracket on the headlight itself.

So I proceeded to paint the mini fairing (good thing it was easily detachable from the headlight itself) and brackets...

While doing so I thought about what to do about the headlight mounting problem, and my first idea is to drill a small hole in the side of the headlight (where I think the hole should be), and stick a piece of toothpic down there to check the clearance I would have. I think the side wall of the headlight is thick enough to be drilled through and used has bolt (with lock washer, rubber grommet and threadlock...)
I know what you`re thinking... why not open the headlight (since it has 3 screws on the top of it and looks like it could just slide out), and bold it down from inside, well I tried it and it didn`t seem to move a bit. I think they "gasket sealed" it.

Any ideas?

Did 200miles today and the headlight is perfect!... just need to re-paint it at some point, but it's easy to take the mini fairing off without touching the headlight itself...
